About
The One Penny Sheet (OPS) is intended to provide a quick user friendly environment for access to News, Opinion and Information from a Progressive point of view. Most posts do not include the full story. These are intended to allow you, the reader, enough information to get a relatively quick idea of the subject matter and to determine whether or not you want to spend the time to find out more. At the bottom of these posts you will find a link back to the source.
We hope you find the content and format of the One Penny Sheet user friendly and useful. If you do, please consider supporting us in one of two ways.
One way is by doing some of your on-line shopping through one of the OPS Shopping portals. Many of these such as Amazon are the same on-line places you are already shopping. By accessing these sites through the OPS portals we get a small percentage. This does not effect your purchase price in any way. It’s not much, but it will help offset a few of the bills involved in keeping OPS going.
The other way is to simply DONATE to OPS through the Pay Pal.
History:
The One Penny Sheet (OPS) began as an email in about 2002. Back then it was hit and miss, to a few friends, and primarily realted to countering some specific right wing lies of the day. It was also a way to work off some of the steam that was building up in me due to the overthrow of our government the theft of the 2000 election through judicial coup d’état (yes, Gore won the popular vote and would have won the electoral college if they had not stopped the recount in Florida). I was researching the stuff anyway, because I needed to know. As we got closer to the 2004 election the emails became longer and more frequent, and then became a daily event and the number of people requesting to receive it grew.
We took OPS to the web in March of 2009. In early October we upgraded again to a new, more flexible and feature rich format. We hope you like it – let us know.
If you have a dialup line and don’t want to tie up the phone line, you can still get an automatic downloaded version of the content of The OPS in a Daily email through FEEDBURNER. Just enter your email address where you see: Get the latest updates via email. Your email address will never be shared. Or, use the RSS (really simple syndication) feed. IE7 has an RSS reader built in. FireFox requires installing a free add-on called an RSS Reader. There are several available – free. Using the RSS feed function you can connect to the OPS click the Feed button in the upper right hand corner of the website banner (your browser will have one too.)
Thanks.
Hey, you’re buying this stuff anyway
